Simply, Ask

Simply, Ask

...Simply, ask

There are no silly questions, only those who don’t ask them

It has taken me years to understand and accept this statement

And as I delve deeper into it, each day it offers me a new perspective and more conviction.

What do I mean by this?

It’s very simple, though not easy. Children, as curious beings, bombard us with thousands of questions to learn about and understand the world around them. They are not ashamed of it, they don’t question whether the question is appropriate or not, or whether they should know the answer or not. Simply, they ask.

Adults, as we believe we know a lot or are told that we should already know a lot, instead of asking, we assume. We infer, with all the errors this generates in communication and relationships.

Have you considered what asking more questions could bring to your life?

Perhaps it would allow you to confirm that you understand what you’ve heard.
Perhaps it would help you complete the information, to delve deeper into it.
Perhaps it would allow you to avoid some misunderstandings.

However, usually, what does your mind think to avoid asking?

That you don’t need it, you’ve understood perfectly, you already know what they want to tell you, it’s the same as always... or
How am I going to ask? You should already know this, you got distracted and didn’t understand it, you’ll see how to do it, asking now would be ridiculous. You can’t afford it.

My proposal for today: Simply, ask.
